Parents ask..."Why do we want to manage myopia?" Myopia (nearsightedness) can be a hindrance not only in school and activities when you are young, but also an eye health issue as you age. With increasing amounts of myopia, the risk of developing sight-threatening eye diseases later in life, such as cataracts, glaucoma, retinal detachment, and macular degeneration, also increase. Thankfully, we now have methods to help slow down the progression of myopia.
